Albany Youth Centre
Connecting Great Southern young people to community, skills, support and opportunity.
The Albany Youth Centre is a welcoming, inclusive and youth-friendly space for young people aged 12 to 25 across Albany and the Great Southern. Open four afternoons a week, the Centre gives young people a safe place to drop in, take a breath, connect with trusted adults, build friendships and access practical support when life feels overwhelming.
At its heart, the Albany Youth Centre is about connection. Young people can access shower, laundry and kitchen facilities, computers for life admin, quiet corners to unwind, gaming and creative activities, afternoon cooking sessions, and support from qualified youth workers who understand the challenges young people can face.
Why this project matters
Young people experiencing housing insecurity, family stress, social isolation, mental health challenges or disruption at school often need more than a referral or a one-off appointment. They need a safe and consistent place where they are known, respected and supported without judgement. The Albany Youth Centre provides that steady point of connection.

Creating connection, confidence and hope
Every visit to the Albany Youth Centre is an opportunity for a young person to feel seen, supported and part of something positive. Whether they come in for a meal, a shower, a conversation, a workshop or a quiet place to reset, the Centre helps young people strengthen their wellbeing and take practical steps toward their goals.
Through this project, Youth Great Southern is investing in more than a building. We are investing in relationships, early support, creativity, resilience and brighter futures for young people across our region.
