The Albany Youth Centre is a welcoming, inclusive and youth-friendly space for young people aged 12 to 25 across Albany and the Great Southern. Open four afternoons a week, the Centre gives young people a safe place to drop in, take a breath, connect with trusted adults, build friendships and access practical support when life feels overwhelming.
The young people in Tambellup WA face some significant challenges, including family violence, substance abuse, low educational outcomes, and high unemployment. These
Youth Great Southern funding supported a work-readiness program for young people in Albany. Here they learnt valuable work skills, featuring an emphasis on project management and construction.
Albany Senior High School applied for funding via Quick Grants to create an engagement program customised for Year 9 male students within their school community.
Breakfast Club provided free nutritious meals five days a week to any students in need, with the support of Youth Great Southern funding.
